Rensselaer's undergraduate biology programs have adapted to meet the revolutionary changes in biological sciences.  Many problems once handled only descriptively are now analyzed molecularly, and biological systems are now being understood as the sum of the interactions between biomolecules.  The undergraduate biology curriculum thoroughly trains you in the fundamentals of the life sciences, as well as the chemistry and physics of the life processes, providing the background necessary for professional training in research or medicine.

B.S. in Biology

We emphasize modern molecular and cellular-level biology, providing a strong background in quantitative, physical, and chemical biology.

B.S. in Biochemistry and Biophysics

Biochemistry and biophysics, closely-related fields, use tools from different sciences to study life.

B.S. in Biological Neuroscience

Rensselaer is proud to offer a four-year degree in this emerging field involving the study of the structure and function of the brain and nervous system. 

B.S. in Computational Biology

Rensselaer is one of the few universities to offer an undergraduate program in this emerging field.

B.S. + M.D. Physician-Scientist Program

One of the few accelerated, combined degree programs in the country specifically created to train physician-scientists.

B.S. + M.S. in Biology

Accelerated master's degree programs save the cost and study time of graduate admission tests, application fees, and extra courses.

Accelerated B.S. / Ph.D. Program

You can receive your Ph.D. seven years after starting college.
